What is mediation?
First let’s clear the air on what exactly meditation is. Meditation is a state of mind where one stills the mind and brings awareness to their state of being. Mediation is not a state of sleep but a relaxed state of consciousness. The idea is to calm the chatter and fluctuations in the mind that keeps you from a direct experience. This is not to say that if you feel like you are distracted throughout the experience that you are not reaping the benefits that it offers because you are. Part of learning to meditate is to notice all the judging in your mind. From a yogic perspective, to effect change you first need to see clearly what is. There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Many tools can be used during meditation to help find a focal point to concentrate on during your experience.
The meditations that I am offering are not guided meditations. At the beginning of each class the participants will be offered a set of tools to use (which differ each week) to guide them into their own meditative state. Meditation is hard but worth it. There are many beneficial outcomes such as lowering blood pressure, heart rates, stress, mental and emotional states of mind and many more. After each class I plan to allow some time for each participant to journal any sort of thoughts or emotions that may have been coming up during their meditation.
Making time for relaxation is important. As Nischala Joy Devi, a renowned healer says: “ A few minutes of deep relaxation a day can remind you that even when you’re busy on the outside, there’s a quiet place within. DO the practice as if your life depends on it, because it does.” Yoga as medicine. The yogic prescription for health and healing.

Reiki flows where it is needed in the recipient, creating the healing conditions necessary for the individuals needs. Reiki can work directly in unconscious parts of the mind/body which contain negative Ki inhibiting "thoughts and feelings" and eliminate them.
